The Director of ICU is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care provided by the ICU. Management responsibilities are comprehensive in the areas of leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, communications, group process, service excellence, control of patient and staff environment and budgeting. Involvement is expected in educational endeavors for staff and self, as well as research applicable to patient care. Management responsibilities actively involve staffing a variety of functions that develop professional accountability and improve performance.
